I remember the first time I visited Camden: my friend wanted to take a group of us to The Hawley Arms - a pub frequented by the late Amy Winehouse (amongst other great musicians and celebrities such as Pete Doherty of The Libertines and Kate Moss).

I love Camden. Although a typical tourist trap and attraction, this part of London will always have my heart. It brings alive all of my younger, "John Hughes-esque" imaginations.

Amongst the rows of food stalls, vinyl and steam-punk shops and walls of street art, I feel most at home amongst (as basic society deems them) such 'misfits' - people sporting Mohawks, piercings and the oddest, most unique fashion I've ever seen.

Unlike East London - which has become quite homogenised, gentrified and commercialised, Camden clings to its pure artistic, musical and 'Punk' spirit.

Every time I visit, I can see why Amy Winehouse never wanted to leave this part of London.
